“I hired Mr. Alex Lane as my lawyer in October of 2008. My fiancé, Stephanie, searched for a good lawyer for me once she found out that my probation office wanted to give me 10 years for my probation violation. “I am writing this letter to your firm in thanks of the work you did for me, not only for being my DUI lawyer, but also helping to get my interlock device off. Arizona DUI laws are among the most extreme in the country so there are limited options for attorneys once it has been proven that I was drinking and driving. Alex Lane took over the final proceedings after my original attorney left the firm and really guided me through. Being the first time ever being in trouble with the law, Mr. Lane truly laid it all out for me and pushed to cut me any breaks he could. About a year later, I had finished my year of having an interlock device and was expecting to get it removed but Arizona modified its laws without notifying current interlock users, to a no tolerance policy with the interlocks and extended mine for another year. I was under 21 until about the date it was supposed to come off. I researched as much as Mr. Lane did on the new law and four months after my device was supposed to be removed, we finally got a hearing. Meeting with the judge, I showed how my life had changed and was not the same person who had acquired the DUI but a great student and has moved in a positive direction. Also, Mr. Lane dealt with the other side of it, by which I mean the technical language and every aspect of the extension that he felt was unfair to me. To be honest the judge looked unconvinced and I was nervous, but three days later, I received a letter, which stated my extension was voided. I immediately went to the DMV and told them as well as showed them the letter. They had only seen an extension get voided one time before. This just made the victory all more real and I know I could not have done it without Mr. Alex Lane.” GN
